There is a vast difference between keeping your romance shielded from prying eyes in comparison to keeping it invisible. The fact that you’re in love with someone shouldn’t be hidden. It can be protected but facts shouldn’t be lied about. For instance, if you choose to not put pictures with your partner, your social media shouldn’t indicate that you’re single or in a relationship with someone else either. That could harm your relationship even more.

By constantly putting your relationship out there, you are inviting the world into your personal space. “Oh he’s shorter than her,” “Oh, she’s so fat,” and even “They don’t even look good together.” And more often than not, it starts getting to you. You begin to view your relationship from a social lens, which is not the way it should be. You know your partner and your relationship better than a certain common friend, right?

A picture with our bestie, one with our family, one of our dog and one with your beau – it needs to have all the elements of your life for people to know. Keeping all the cons aside, a picture here and there with your partner is just a way to let people know you’re in love or you’re still in a relationship with them. No judgments here, but one should always be consciously aware of what is being uploaded because once it is on the internet, it is out there forever.
