The scariest place in Goa is this church. If you remember, this is the church from the film Finding Fanny. It is believed that three kings were killed in a struggle for a local kingdom, and their spirits haunt the church. The view from the hill top church is a great panorama of the Goa coast, but it is advisable to turn back before sun set, as local reports speak of actual encounters with spirits.

Behind the Church of Our Lady of Snows, people have reported supernatural experience in broad daylight. Locals believe that anyone taking that route around 2 to 3 PM runs risk of being taken over by an evil spirit. The deafening silence of the road and the mystical air around that part provides quite a perfect setting for this local legend.
Rachol Seminary Arch

Rachol is a village on the banks of Zuari river. Villagers believe that the arch leading to the village seminary is guarded by a dead Portuguese soldier. On some days, they can see the spirit, in his full uniform. And some unfortunate visitors are denied entry, as some or the other event prevents their trespassing on the seminary.
Borim Bridge

Considered haunted by the spirit of a mad woman, many riders have seen a woman run across and jump into the river under the bridge, but leaving no splash or ripples behind. Hence few travellers cross the bridge after dark.
The Rodrigues House

The Rodrigues family still resides in this Portuguese mansion in Verna, a village to the north of Margao. The family is used to the doors and windows which open and close at their own will, and the lights flicker on and off at random. But to an outsider, this makes a great supernatural experience.
If you are in Goa for this new year, or plan a visit soon, take a trip to these haunted destinations to enjoy the thrill beyond the beaches.
