Mussoorie has a lot of charm and beauty, even if it is often crowded with tourists during summer. The lesser known extension of Landour with quiet hills, gardens and scenic landscapes had added to the joy at Mussoorie.
When it is difficult to plan an extended stay in the mountains during summer, Mussoorrie is perfect for a day’s getaway. Here is what you can do to make the most of one day at the ‘Queen of the mountains’.
Watch The Sunrise Over The Pari Tibba
It is best to start the day at Landour. With rolling cover of mists, and the sun rays breaking through the mountain tops, you can actually see the magic over the hill that Ruskin Bond fondly named as Pari Tibba, the hill of fairies. When the mist clears, you can easily spot the massifs of Kedarnath, Baderpunch and Badrinath from here.

Breakfast With Colonial Views
Landour has many petit cafes that serve local as well as colonial breakfast. Eating amidst potted flowers, with looming colonial architecture in the background is indeed a good way to start a day. Café Ivy or Char Dukaan are good spots for a healthy and sumptuous breakfast.
