Know These Airbnb Hacks Before Your Next Vacation

To get the best out of your stay

If you’re the type who loves to travel and often finds yourself spending on hotels, maybe Airbnb is the option you look out for.

No matter if you’re still an Airbnb virgin who has never stayed with a host, or whether you have stayed at an Airbnb and still want to get more out of your experience, there are a lot of hacks you can try out.

1. You Can Negotiate On The Price Directly With The Host

All hosts will give you a set quote on the site, but if you know your specific dates you can actually directly get in touch with the host and check about further discounts and savings. A lot of Airbnb hosts have something like a Special Offer that you can access directly when you contact the host. Instead of going to the ‘Request to Book’ option go for the ‘Contact this host’ option and add your exact stay dates. This can make your stay pre-approved without having to pay in advance.

2. Create A Wish List First

There is a wish list option on Airbnb that lets you compare the price of properties in and around the areas that you are kind of sure you will visit. If you don’t have the time to sit down and create a wish list yourself, you can also go through the wish list that others have already created for things to do around the place you are planning to visit.

3. Look For Hosts With A 100 Percent Response Rate

The hosts who have a 100 response rate are the ones who will answer your queries quickly and help you put things in place together for your vacation. These hosts are also the ones who will settle for a good rate and if you can get in touch with them about the rates to find the best pricing. Also, these hosts will be more serious about letting out the place and you have lesser risks of last minute cancellations.

4. Sometimes, Booking For More Days Can Be Cheaper!

There are some hosts who will offer you a discount if you are booking for more days, say a week or a month, instead of say three or four days. If that is the case, you can actually get a better rate for booking say seven days instead of four, and if you decide to extend your stay you can actually make use of the entire seven days. Quite a bargain that!

Another thing you can do is that if you are already in town and want to switch from a different stay place to an Airbnb host place, you can send them a message and see if you can visit the place first. Some hosts actually let you visit the place in person before you book, and once there you can take a call and book immediately.
