Actors Who Rose Way Above The Nepotism That Kangana Has Been Debating About

Bollywood actors who proved that talent weighs more than nepotism

In India everyone’s familiar with the typical filmy dialogue that goes; “Doctor ka beta doctor”, “Engineer ka beta engineer,” and like Amitabh Bachchan was told in Deewar, “Chor ka beta chor.” The same goes in the glamour field too where an actor ka beta or beti, automatically becomes an actor, a fact which has been made famous by Kangana’s nepotism controversy. But there are many Bollywood actors who proved that talent weighs more than nepotism and have let their work prove that. Here’s a list of some such actors:

Kangana Ranaut

She obviously tops the list as she not only bravely brought up the issue of nepotism to light but also struggled her way to stardom to become the Queen of Bollywood that she’s known as today. She started out as a model when she was only 16 and even though she had to struggle a lot, there was no looking back for her after that.

Priyanka Chopra

She has rightly said that her success belongs to herself and nobody else and we second that. She’s not made us proud internationally too. Priyanka grabbed every opportunity that came her way and gave it her all. She’s had failures and ups and downs but has never let that affect the go getter attitude she has. She however feels she is destiny’s favourite child and while we couldn’t agree more we think it’s also all the effort she puts in to her work that’s taken her where she is, from a humble army kid to an international star!

Shah Rukh Khan

Had he not been an actor today, he would have been a sportsman but thanks to a knee injury, he ended up being a super star and we’re not complaining about that are we? He started his career with a television serial called Fauji struggled his way to be where he is today. His advice to strugglers is “Never give up always believe in your dreams and keep working hard towards it.”

Sushant Singh Rajput

He’s not had it very easy, he had to face struggle even to get a show on television, until finally Ekta Kapoor’s Pavitra Rishta happened to him, but his struggles didn’t end there since he was adamant about getting into films, he gave up the show and was jobless again, he even worked at coffee shops to survive in Mumbai. As luck would have it, he was finally offered Kai Po Che and his life as we can see has changed forever. Sushant’s story makes us believe that miracles do happen if you believe in them.

Deepika Padukone

She definitely proved that a sportsman ki beti need not be a sportsman even if you have played national level badminton to begin with. Deepika was destined to be an actress. Unlike the rest, she had fate on her side and didn’t have to struggle much once she did the Closeup and Liril commercials but she proved that one really doesn’t need a god father to make it big.

Akshay Kumar

His is a kind of rags to riches story. Looking at Akshay Kumar today, it’s difficult to believe that he once worked as a waiter, a chef and a background dancer too. He’s one of the finest actors the industry has today but his journey has not been an easy one. Akshay’s life proves that no job is small and hard work does pay off eventually.

Anushka Sharma

Even though she had no plans of becoming an actress and was happy with her modelling assignments, she is one of the most loved actresses today. Even after the release of her first film, she didn’t immediately make it big but she was patient and had no desire to join the rat race and increase the number of films, instead she chose her films wisely and rose her way up.

Life Lessons We Can All Learn From Them:

Be ready to face rejection

Trust yourself and listen to your heart

Focus on what you want to do and work hard

Believe in your dreams and never give up

Grab every opportunity that comes your way

Miracles happen and struggles do end

Be patient and dream big
