We as humans always tend to remain unsatisfied and that is what keeps us thriving for more. This is one of the most important characteristics that workplaces have happily started investing in, apart from the cliché perks and benefits. Once, I entered an office and I see a foosball table instead of a reception and I went like “WOAH! HOW CAN I APPLY?!” Few companies are offering such playful perks in an attempt to attract the best employees and increase worker satisfaction. Sharing responsibility to each employee for making choices for the entire workforce at some point or the other also helps dissolve the rigid hierarchies and power play that goes on in the workplace. It makes business more transparent and workers happier.

Safety In Workplace

If you don’t have a Dwight in your workplace who keeps weaponry strategically around the workplace to keep you afoot, other safety protocols are essential.

Workplace safety is paramount for the employer in all modern workplaces. Employees are expected to cooperate with the safety drills that are frequently organized by the company. The safety protocol doesn’t only enlist the responsibility to help co-workers in accidents like fires, shocks, etc. but also in smaller physical hazards like falling down the stairs, tripping over drawers of the desks, injury in lifting heavy material and so on. Employers should follow the conduct of how to ensure maximum inclusion of workers in workplace by keeping an update on the differently abled facilities or aid needed in pregnancy or mental health assistance and so on. It should also encourage the employees to engage in the same as well.

A Workplace Free Of Sexual Harassment And Discrimination

Building up on the last point, we have one of this most urged ethic in a modern workplace. Employees never prefer to work in an atmosphere where they feel harassed, prejudiced against, or disadvantaged. Any sexual harassment instance varying from an unwelcoming touch to requesting sexual favours along with attacks of exclusion of any kind can be reported and must be attended equally by the company.

Adding to the list of fresh codes we also have Power Abuse, Policies on Office Romances and Time-theft in modern workplaces which should be communicated as clearly as possible while appointment so that the employees can make a wise choice. Apart from this, it is always good to attend to the cases that remain uncovered by the ethics and research on how they could have been better dealt with. This is the reason why Human Resource Managers who are skilled to address the needs and issues of the employees and the organization are heavily demanded. They work to implement these ethics and do their best to ensure a healthy work environment for everyone at all times.
