Anushka’s portrayal of the character was beyond perfection.She was inspiring enough for many to convince their parents about letting them focus on ambition over marriage.
Aarfa – Sultan
Aarfa’s character may have been physically strong since she was a wrestler but it was even stronger when it came to handling things on the domestic front. While many found Aarfa’s pregnancy in Sultan a regressive step, I’d say there’s nothing wrong for a woman to choose motherhood even at the peak of her career if she feels so. Anushka nailed the role with all its sporty and emotional sides.
Farah Ali – Dil Dhadakne Do
Anushka Sharma’s character Farah Ali in Dil Dhadakne Do is a young free spirited being. She’s shown to be fulfilling her aspirations beyond her conservative family’s understanding and support. Individuality and maturity of this character was ably portrayed by Anushka.

Meera – NH10
One of the strongest portrayal of women in cinema, Anushka Sharma’s Meera in NH10 was simply brilliant. The dark film dealt with the serious issue of honour killing. The layers of Meera’s character from being a high flying corporate employee to losing her husband to local killers and furthermore seeking revenge were absolutely disturbing. The film challenged the patriarchal society that we live in and for me this film till date remains one of Anushka’s best performance.
