All those who belong to the magical era of the 90s will know exactly the magic that Bollywood has always been capable of creating. 90s was the golden age of Bollywood when some of the best movies came out. We call it the golden age because the period from 1990 to 1999 was the time which has made an indelible mark in our hearts. Our excitement still knows no bounds when we see Prem and Nisha in Hum Aapke Hain Koun. We still set our couple goals like Rahul and Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

The 90s will be always very close to us not just because of the movies, but also because of the actors that came and conquered a permanent place in our heart. Such movies no longer made but we are more than happy that some of the legendary actresses are still there rocking the Bollywood scene. They have shown us that age is just a number and they can still create wonders on screen.

Kajol – The Unconventional Beauty

She became a household name right after the success of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Kajol was never one of those conventional beauties of Bollywood. It was her impeccable acting skills, dusky complexion, and devil may care attitude, which set her apart from the throng. Be it the silent killer of Gupt or the tomboy Anjali of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kajol has been the one who has never done any role in which she has not believed. She did not let success get to her head, which is why she is still standing strong. Kajol had the guts to leave the film world and get married and be a mother when her career was at its peak. Even though her latest movies did not do great at the box office, her fame has not gone down in any way.

Tabu – The Queen Of Off-Beat Films

While her contemporaries were busy going for films that would be a commercial hit, Tabu chose the path less travelled and that has made all the difference. This dusky beauty’s first step in Bollywood was in the year 1980 in the movie Bazaar. But it was only after the success of Vijaypath in 1994, that Tabu got her much deserved acclaim. We remember Tabu as the strong-willed mother in Chachi 420, and the very powerful role of a bar dancer, which she played in Chandni Bar, nearly had us in tears. Not a lot has changed with this perfect woman because Tabu still continues to ace in her roles as we have seen in movies like Andhadhun, Drishyam, and Haider.

Madhuri Dixit – The One Who Stole A Million Hearts

She came, she danced, and she conquered. She is the one who can still make men go crazy with her “dhak dhak” moves, and her “ek do teen” still is a popular number amongst people of all generations. Madhuri Dixit needs no formal introduction. She is not only a very graceful actor but she also made her mark in Bollywood with her equally graceful dance moves. That Kathak dance from Dil Toh Pagal Hai, where Madhuri is seen dancing without a care in the world still gives us goosebumps. Having taken a sabbatical from movies after her marriage, she made a grand comeback in Devdas, where she aced the role of Chandramukhi, and now again her recent movie alongside Anil Kapoor, Total Dhamaal has just released. We will also soon see her in the upcoming movie Kalank opposite Sanjay Dutt.

Juhi Chawla – “kkkk…Kiran” Never Gets Old

Yes, that is one of the many ways how we remember this bubbly actress. Juhi Chawla started off her career as a model and she was also the winner of the 1984 Miss India beauty pageant. She was one of the finest actresses of the90s, and with movies like Ishq, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Yes Boss, and Darr, there was no looking back for this charming lady. Her last movie, Chalk and Duster (2016) may not have been a great hit, but it showed us how this talented actor never went out of style. She will be again seen in the upcoming movie Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – The Blue-Eyed Beauty

She is another one who needs no introduction. She is the Bachchan bahu and the mother of a beautiful girl, but that is not it. Aishwarya Rai’s grace and poise on screen knows no bounds. She is a talented and versatile actor, which has been proved time and again by the great films that she has done. She won the best actress award twice in The Filmfare Awards, once for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) and then for Devdas (2002). She is someone who has consistently done good films and that too of varied genres. We love her bold look in Dhoom 2, and her docile appearance in Jodhaa Akbar still mesmerizes till date. We cant get enough of her sizzling diva look in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil or Fanney Khan.

Many new talents might be coming up, but to compete with these legends and be at par with them will definitely be quite a challenge for the newbies here.
