Kai Po Che! – Rajkummar Rao
He is currently grabbing rave reviews for his role in Newton, but the fact is, Rajkummar Rao has been giving consistently great performances ever since his debut in Love Sex Aur Dhoka. But mainstream attention only fell on him with Kai Po Che!, where he once again impressed us with his excellent acting.
Gangs of Wasseypur – Nawazuddin Siddiqui
The classy actor that Nawaz is today has been active in Bollywood since way back in 1999 when he was first seen in Sarfarosh. But his claim to fame came around 13 years later with the Gangs of Wasseypur films. He played the unabashed Faizal Khan whose mind is consumed by nothing but revenge.
Gulaal – Deepak Dobriyal
Omkara came way before Gulaal, but with its ensemble cast, the film did not give Deepak Dobriyal the right opportunity to shine. However, in Gulaal he surprised everyone with his controlled performance as the obedient assistant to Kay Kay Menon’s character.
Shor in the City – Radhika Apte
Radhika Apte is a multi-lingual actor who needs no introduction now. Shor in the City brought her recognition, and since then she has gone on to work in a large number of Hindi, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil films.
Raanjhanaa – Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub
He is one of the most poised natural actors in the industry right now. Zeeshan’s performance in Raanjhanaa was extremely well received, and he followed it up with a brilliant role in Shahid as well, in the same year.
Rockstar – Kumud Mishra
After having done roles that went unnoticed in That Girl in Yellow Boots and Patiala House, Kumud Mishra made his presence felt in Rockstar as the amiable canteen owner, Khatana. Since then, he has been on a roll, with movies like Baby, Rustom, Sultan, Jolly LLB 2 and many more under his belt.
