A lot has been written about astronaut Rakesh Sharma’s biopic. The buzz around the said film, which is titled Saare Jahaan se Achcha, has been doing the rounds. It was initially said that Aamir Khan would be playing the role of Rakesh Sharma but at the media interactions during his birthday, Aamir cleared the air and said that he had been approached for the film but would not be doing the film as he had some other projects in the pipeline.
That was followed by the news of Shah Rukh Khan being finalised for the same role instead of Aamir.Then there were rumours about walked Shah Rukh walking out of the biopic, due to the preparation for Don 3.

After that there were fresh rumours floating around. While some said that Kartik Aaryan had been approached for the role, there were other reports that said that Sushant Singh Rajput would be playing Rakesh Sharma. The last buzz doing the rounds was that Ranbir Kapoor had been signed for Saare Jahan Se Achcha, but the actor was yet to give his nod to the project.
But a close source tells Hot Friday Talks that it’s none other than Vicky Kaushal, the current hot favorite of every director, who might just be playing the role of Rakesh Sharma. Vicky seems to be on a roll, he has recently been roped in to play army man Sam Manekshaw. Saare Jahan Se Accha will be Vicky’s third biopic after Sam Makeshshaw and freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh.
Producers Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur have been working on the script since the last five years. Since Vicky has earlier worked with Ronnie on the hit film, Uri: The Surgical Strikes, looks like the producers were highly impressed by Vicky’s performance and have finalised him for the role. The source also tells us that director Mahesh Mathai will be directing the film.
We’re sure Vicky’s fans (who range from 5 year olds to 85 plus) will not mind that at all! Vicky Kaushal is here to stay for sure!
