All You Need To Know About Sushant Singh’s New Girl Sanjana Sanghi

Who is Sanjana Sanghi?

 

Casting Director Mukesh Chhabra will make his Bollywood debut as a director with the Hindi adaptation of the 2014 hit Hollywood film The Fault In Our Stars. While Sushant Singh Rajput had been cast as the male lead for the film, everyone was eager to know who would be playing the female lead.Well, the lucky girl is Sanjana Sanghi!

Sanjana will be playing the character of Hazel Grace Lancaster, a role played by Shailene Woodley in the original film adapted from the novel A Fault In Our Stars by John Greene. The film is presented by Fox Star Studios, and AR Rahman will be giving the music for the film.

She has been earlier seen in films like Rockstar, Fukrey Returns, and Hindi Medium

It was 21-year-old Sanjana’s innocent looks that bagged her the role in this film. But Sanjana is not new to the limelight she has already faced the camera when she was only 14. Speaking to HFT, debut director Mukesh says, “I had cast her as a 14-year-old in rock star and she was brilliant and after that, I cast her for a number of ad films too. She not only looks beautiful and innocent but is also very talented and when I decided to remake The Fault In Our Stars in Hindi, she was the first person who came to my mind.” She was part of Imtiaz Ali’s Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rockstar where she played Nargis Fakhri’s younger sister Mandy. Then too she was chosen from among 20,000 girls who had auditioned for the role from all across the country.

That’s not all she has acted in films like Fukrey Returns and Hindi Medium too. In Hindi Medium she plays the younger version of the role played by Saba Qamar. She has also been the face of numerous television commercials like Vodafone (Made For You) Offers, Tanishq Jewellery, Subway Sandwiches, L&T Financial Services and Dabur Almond Hair Oil.

Sanjana is a Delhi girl and comes from a business family. She did her schooling from Modern School, Barakhamba Road in New Delhi and has a degree in Journalism & Mass Communication from Lady Shri Ram College For Women.Sanjana loves writing and has done her internship at various media outlets and worked as a sub-editor too.

Sanjana took to Twitter to share her happiness about her new film and said, “Proud and honored to be a part of this! Looking forward to work with my co-star @itsSSR in the romantic remake of the Hollywood blockbuster #TheFaultInOurStars! Thank you @CastingChhabra & @foxstarhindi for this opportunity.”

The film will go on floors by mid 2018.
