Chulbul Pandey

Chulbul Pandey played by Salman Khan, is the most thunderously crackling police officer Bollywood has ever seen. He is a corrupt police officer, but with a little difference. Chulbul steals from the bad guys and makes sure to pass it on to the poor. That’s why he calls himself Robin Hood Pandey. His killer one-liners, his fart-jokes (remember ‘hum tum mein itne ched karenge, ki bhul jaoge ki sans kaha se le aur paadein kaha se’?), his ‘fictional’ super-powers to swing dozens of goons, his swag ala Rajnikant-like tricks of swinging the Ray-Bans is a treat to watch!

Singham

Unlike Pandeyji, Bajirao Singham is an honest diligent cop, who follows the mantra of his life – “Mein leta nahin, deta hoon”. Clad in a perfectly-fitted Khaki uniform, Singham is raw AF who unabashedly flies, kicks, jumps, and slaps the goons. A complete no-nonsense cop, Singham’s personality is to die for.

Rowdy Rathore

Rowdy Rathore is actually a thief-turned-cop. The traits of this character are more or less similar to Chulbul Pandey and Bajirao Singham. However, the only difference is Rowdy Rathore’s slapstick humour and yes, his moustache which he keeps twirling up. In fact, his moustache plays a pivotal role in his life as he keeps saying he wants his moustache cut off if he dies in a fight. Machoness personified!

JCP Dashrath Singh

Dashrath Singh is one crazy cop, who smokes beedis and wears a gamchha around his neck, dons a black leather jacket while he goes after criminals. Not to forget, this 60-something cop dances with hot babes and does drunk dancing with an item girl. Remember ‘Kajra Re….’?

Simmba

The notorious cop Sangram Bhalerao is coming to entertain you next Christmas. Introducing Rohit Shetty’s new cop-drama ‘Simmba’, starring Ranveer Singh as the lead, that will hit the theatres on December 28 next year.

Going by the first look poster, where Ranveer is seen laughing out loud, we are sure the actor will show his crazy side yet again in this one. Ranveer wearing glares, a ganjee and a chain, gives us a hint that we might get to see another rowdy cop with an intriguing moustache look.

During an interview, Ranveer recently mentioned how this role was extremely dark for him and compared to Heath Ledger’s Joker.

Fans on the other hand have been comparing Ranveer’s look to Khal Drogo of Game Of Thrones.

Welll, we think the actor has some serious talent and here’s looking at other villainous roles he would have pulled off well:

1. Gabbar Singh

While we don’t want Sholay to ever get remade, to thnink about a new cast is not a crime. Ranveer Singh as Gabbar would certainly add a lot of drama to this character. He has the quality to transform himself quite amazingly for all his films. We can’t wait to hear him ask, “Kab hai Holi, Holi kab hai?”.

2. Mogambo

One thing for sure, Mogambo and Ranveer’s fashion sense are not too far. Sporting those stylized avatars, Ranveer can definitely pull off Mogambo’s role except for the missing Amrish Puri baritone.

3. Kancha Cheena

While there will be no more Agneepath remakes, there’s no harm imagining how amazing Ranveer would have looked as Kancha Cheena. He would have to beef up a little but it would certainly be fun to catch him in a scary character like Cheena. Sanjay Dutt still gives us the chills from the remake.

4. Magneto

Why limit ourself to Bollywood? Like his alleged girlfriend Deepika Padukone, if Ranveer plans to make it to the Hollywood, we have some grey characters that will suit him. He would be a great choice to play the superhero villain, Magneto/Eric Lensher. Playing a superhero is too mainsream and hence Ranveer could be the hot anti-hero.

5. Darth Vader

Because costumes are fun, we would love to see Ranver pull off a Darth Vader from Star Wars. If he is on the dark side, we wouldn’t mind sliding a bit too.

While I can’t stop going ‘awwww…’ at all of those adorable pictures and videos of the famous celebrity toddlers and it’s nice to see the toddlers bonding with their nannies, what I couldn’t help noticing was the stark white uniforms that some of these nannies have been made to wear! While the uniform makes me laugh as it looks like a cross between Jitendra’s white pants and a doctor’s coat, I can’t help think WHY?

We’ve seen drivers and watchmen in uniforms but nannies in uniforms? Well, I’ve had a nanny for my child too but it never ever occurred to me that she should have a uniform if she is taking care of my child! Should she? Or is it just a status statement? Is there any logical reason at all?

The very fact that my child’s nanny fills in for me as a parent in my absence is something that I am grateful and can’t thank her enough for. Why then must we differentiate and make them feel like it’s a job they are doing by giving them a uniform, rather than accept them as a member of the family and let them wear what they like?

For anyone who can afford them, nannies are a blessing in disguise for both working or stay at home moms too. While there are some like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who can afford one but said no to a nanny and chose to be a hands-on mom to daughter Aaradhya, there are others like Farah Khan who has three nannies to take care of her triplets, but minus the horrendous white uniform.It’s nice to see them all always colorfully dressed like you and me!

Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar are the most adorable and stylish parents with equally adorable kids. Twinkle is another hands-on mum too, though she does have a nanny for daughter Nitara and NO her nanny does not have a white uniform! (So maybe I am not outdated. Thanks, Twinkle!)

It’s not just these celebrities, I’ve also seen some nannies/ maids in restaurants, malls, etc.walking behind their employers dressed in uniforms carrying a whole lot of shopping bags. It’s almost like branding them and saying, “ This uniform on the maid means she belongs to us!” I may be wrong but in my opinion, the uniform is just so pretentious, there is no way to justify it. It just makes the nannies stand out and it’s like a declaration saying; “She doesn’t belong to the family even if she is taking care of my child!”

The only justification I can think of is perhaps it’s because the job includes poo, spit ups, throw-ups, drools, gooey handprints etc. but babies do that to us too don’t they? We don’t wear a uniform! So what’s the point of a uniform? Is it so unthinkable and hideous if the nannies wore what they wished to wear as long as it is comfortable and practical? What’s the harm if they were given a comfortable pair of t-shirt and sweatpants?

I don’t know what the so-called ‘babas’ and ‘babies’ have to say about it, but I feel that the uniform for nannies are a farce and reeking of the nouveau riche label all over it! It’s like making them wear a uniform in public would be like making them look better at the uniformed nanny’s expense! It’s absolutely discriminatory!
