Does anyone take Kangana Ranaut’s controversies seriously anymore? Whether it’s before the release of any of her films or otherwise, Kangana gives the media a lot of fodder to write/talk about. She actually even admits that she is the Queen of controversy and we couldn’t agree more.
While most of the time, Kangana gets into a spat with her co-actors, this time round Kangana accused a journalist of running a smear campaign against her and for giving negative reviews to her film Manikarnika. During the song launch of her upcoming film Judgemental Hai Kya Kangana got into a spat with a journalist named Justin Rao.
Basically, Kangana was miffed at Justin because of the negative review that he gave for her film Manikarnika. Kangana told Justin, “Tum mere baare mei kitni gandi gandi baatein likhte ho. Jingoistic bolte ho. Itni gandi soch laate kahan se ho? You are bashing my film Manikarnika. Have I made a mistake by making a film? You are calling me a jingoistic person for making a film on nationalism.”
Then when Justin tried to speak out, and tell her that what she was saying was unfair, Kangana went on to say, that she had a 3 hour long chat during an interview with him and they also ate lunch together. After which she said he even sent her a message. Justin, however, refused all of it, and asked her to share the screen shots of the message, to which Kangana had no answer. Justin even told her that he did not have lunch with her, after which Kangana told him that she did not wish to speak to him!
Kangana, along with co-actor Rajkummar Rao and others was launching the song Wakhra Swag from Judgemental Hai Kya when this incident took place. While Rajkummar and choreographer Bosco watched on helplessly during the heated argument between Kanagna and Justin, the producer, Ektaa Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms, intervened and try to calm Justin down and even asked the host to let him speak.
Kangana then tried to make the atmosphere lighter by saying that this press conference was a very casual, friendly one and she was even dressed that way. She said everyone was free to question each other as friends would.
Judgemental Hai Kya, also stars Amyra Dastur, and is set to hit the screens on 26 July. Like Rajkummar Rao pointed out, even the titles of Kangana’s films seem to reflect her character. She has done a film titled Ungli, then she has Judgemental Hai Kya and also has a film called Panga coming up!
Is it just a coincidence or do directors deliberately go to Kangana with such titles knowing her temperament? Well, we really don’t know do we ? But what we can say is that Ektaa Kapoor should now make a series on Kangana and her Kontroversies…I mean controversies!
