Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma in Sui Dhaga

Yes this is the same Varun whom we saw dancing in Student of the Year. He is a simpleton, a tailor by profession -Mauji who takes you back to a world lost and buried, with his mustached look. Anushka, Mamta in the movie is an embroiderer who looks just like any other small town woman with bangles, saree, vermillion and a simple no-makeup look. Their first look for this movie is very promising and their attire sets the tone for this movie.
Alia Bhatt in Udta Punjab and Highway

Yes, again this is the same Shanaya whom the world chased in Student of the Year. Playing the role of the victim of an abduction, Alia readily settled for oversized shirts and no makeup. Designer Aki Narula did a fantastic job with the outfits. Her shabby look in Udta Punjab was rightly suited for the role of a Bihari migrant laborer.
Yet again in “Highway”, we have seen Alia Bhatt sporting a no-makeup look with shabby, oversized t-shirts and track pants, which according to reports had been actually borrowed from residents of the places where the movie was shot.
Priyanka Chopra in Barfi

Who would recognize this international glamour queen from Quantico and Baywatch in Barfi where she evolved as the face of autism. This beautiful movie showcases Priyanka in her short, cropped curly hair, a simple cotton skirt and a red cardigan; smiling obliviously from time to time. We know how difficult this transformation must have been especially if we check out her Instagram account now!
Shraddha Kapoor in Haider

This hauntingly beautiful adaptation of Hamlet showcases Shraddha Kapoor in a typical Kashmiri girl’s avatar with very simple clothing and mellow makeup. Shraddha who is otherwise known for her amazing sense of fashion and sultry makeup toned it down a bit for this movie and we loved her.
Celebs have a hard life. Imagine being in someone else’s skin every other day. The transformations they undergo are pretty challenging. But that doesn’t necessarily imply that we disassociate them from glamour. They are the same glam queens underneath all the shabby clothes!
