In today’s day to day life where children are burdened so much with studies and fast life its necessarily important to add in a few energy boosting foods straight from your kitchen including other meals just to make sure your child has enough stamina and is keeping up with good health from the inside as the foods given below are rich sources of calcium, power pack of nutrients and will help stimulate your child’s brain and body. So let’s have a look at those foods and let’s find out some innovative ways to make it turn out healthy as well as delicious.

Dates gives a significant amount of fibre and it’s a power pack combination of vitamins and minerals etc. Just soak a handful of deseeded and chopped into half dates in three spoonful of ghee overnight and you can give it to your child next morning whenever he feels like munching. You can have it too. You can also make a dates milkshake by grinding dates and milk together in a blender it makes a yummy and filling milkshake.

Spinach is a very nutrients rich vegetable. It contains a good amount of folic acid. Folic acid is very helpful for children in their growing years. Children find spinach a tasteless boring vegetable on their plates anyway. But to make it fun what you have to do is take a bunch of sorted clean spinach and blend it into a puree with little water and salt then add it in your flour to make a regular dough of roti/ chapati. The green chapattis will turn out savoury and your children won’t be able to resist it. Serve it with your regular vegetable sabji or a dollop of butter or ghee.

Paneer is definitely one of the most eaten food of India. And if eaten in a right amount and right ways it gives you various amounts of benefits. Specially in your child’s growing years it would be a sensible choice of foods as it is rich in proteins it will help boost your child’s immunity, maintain growth and blood volume etc. It is also a rich source of calcium, which is again very obliging in your child’s growing years. You can just make a scrambled paneer and serve it with roti or you can make a paneer Frankie with lots of veggies it would also look and taste so flavourful and irresistible on your table.

Out of other fruits, papaya gives those nutrients to children which we may not be able to give them in a form of meal. A power house of nutrients and proteins is what we call eggs, right! Eggs are so much important in our diet as well as your child’s diet as it helps build up stamina. Eggs can be served and made in variety of different ways. A hardboiled egg with a little bit mayonnaise, salt, pepper and ketchup in a sandwich is so luscious and wholesome isn’t it!

Yogurt provides all the necessary nutrients that our body requires. Rich in phosphorus and magnesium yogurt is very integral part of your child’s meal. Plain yogurt may taste tangy and terrific but it’s always healthier than the flavoured one. A bowl of fresh fruits with yogurt, a stuffed paratha with yogurt or maybe a soulful traditional ‘south Indian curd rice’ would also be a satisfying option.

It can be given in a form of Indian sprouts masala, sprouts soup or a sprout pulao.
