Kolambi bhaat is a simple and delicious dinner dish eaten in Maharashtra and the Konkan. The prawns are marinated and mixed first, and then the rice is added. The masala for the marinade depends on the eater, but usually consists of cinnamon, jeera, tej patta, cardamom, dried red chillies and so on. Add the rice once the prawns are cooked well. You can also add tomato or tomato puree. The dish can be garnished with coriander, coconut and green chillies.

Prawn temperado is a beautiful dish which explores the trio of the flavours of coconut, brinjal and prawn. Red or white pumpkin may be used as a substitute for brinjal, and it is used in regional variations. This curry is mildly spicy, due to addition of coconut milk, and fresh coconut and very less red chillies. Poppy seeds (khas khas) and the coconut milk make this curry thick and rich. A must-try dish!

This authentic Konkan non-spicy curry is made using any fleshy fish or even prawns. It is a delicious blend where the spices are fried, and then tomato puree, and ginger-garlic paste are added. After these are cooked, the coconut milk is added. Then the prawns or the fish is added and cooked away in the gravy. This creates a non-spicy, mild yet absolutely yummy curry.
