Disney India Has An Interesting Lineup Of Films For 2018

An impressive list to look forward to in the coming year!

 

Disney is all set with their list of releases in the coming year and we cannot help get excited about it. Here’s the list, take a look.

Black Panther

Starring Ryan Coogler Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, among others, Black Panther follows T’Challa who returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to become king, but when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. The film is slated to release on 16 February, 2018.

A Wrinkle in Time

Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time, is an epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light. The film stars Ava DuVernay Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peňa etc. It is slated to release on 9 March, 2018.

Avengers: Infinity War

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The film has an ensemble starcast which includes;Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Anthony & Joe Russo Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Josh Brolin, Don Cheadle, Sebastian Stan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, among many others.The film is slated to hit the theaters on 27 April,2018.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Starring Ron Howard Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, Solo: A Star Wars Story is centered on a young Han Solo, the roguish smuggler who later meets Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker in the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars (1977), and his adventures with his Wookiee partner Chewbacca, including their encounter with Lando Calrissian. The film will be ready for release on 25 May, 2018.

The Incredibles 2

This is a sequel to Incredibles will start immediately after the end of the first film, according to Pixar’s chief creative officer John Lasseter. It will focus on Helen Parr (Holly Hunter), also known as Elastigirl, while her husband Bob (Craig T. Nelson) remains at home to watch their children Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner), and Jack-Jack. The family struggles to maintain normal lives while they remain unaware of Jack-Jack’s powers. However, they, along with Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) will have to battle a new villain with a sinister plot.You can catch The Incredibles 2 on 15 June, 2018.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

This one stars Peyton Reed Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, Randall Park, Walton Goggins. The film is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang tries to balance his home life as a father with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, when Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym present him with a new mission, requiring him to team up with van Dyne as the new Wasp. It is set to release on 6 July, 2018.

Christopher Robin

This one is a film I am definitely waiting to watch, a film I am sure all Winnie The Pooh fans will look forward to too! The little boy from the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, is now all grown up and has lost all sense of imagination. Pooh and his friends re-enter Christopher’s life to help him find it again. The film stars Marc Forster Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell and Christopher Robin. The film will hit the theaters on 3 August, 2018.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

A live-action adaptation of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s The Nutcracker and the Mouse King about a young girl who finds a Nutcracker doll among the family’s gifts and is charged by her parents to take special care of it. The film stars Lasse Hallström Mackenzie Foy, Keira Knightley, Miranda Hart, Eugenio Derbez, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren. It is slated to release on 2 November, 2018.

Ralph Breaks the Internet

This film takes place after six years following the events of the first film, The story will center on Ralph’s adventures in the Internet data space when a Wi-Fi router gets plugged into the arcade as he must find a replacement part to fix Sugar Rush. The film stars Rich Moore, Phil Johnston John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch and Taraji P. Henson. The film will hit theaters on 23 November, 2018.

Mary Poppins Returns

If you’ve loved Mary Poppins, this is a not to be missed movie. In 1935, during the era of the Great Depression in the United Kingdom, the now grown-up Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael’s three children – Annabel, Georgie and John – are visited by their former nanny following a family tragedy which has left them numb and joyless. The film Meryl Streep,Colin Firth,Rob Marshall Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Pixie Davies, Joel Dawson, Nathanael Saleh, and Julie Walters. The film is slated to release during the end of the year holidays on 28 December,2018.
