So if you’ve been wondering what is the Photograph that Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been talking about, well, it’s the title of his new film that is set to have its world premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and the film is amongst the 112 selected movies that are set to be screened there.

The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra who started shooting for Photograph right after Dangal, so the film was actually her second film. Photograph is directed by Lunchbox and Our Souls At Night fame director Ritesh Batra. Photograph is about a struggling street photographer Rafi(Nawazuddin) in Mumbai, who is being pressured by his grandmother to get married. He meets a random girl Miloni(Sanya) and asks her to pose as his fiancée. Over time Miloni and Rafi develop a connection that changes their life. The film also stars Abdul Qadir Amin and Denzil Smith. The official tagline of the film rightfully reads: Two lives intersect in Mumbai and go along together.

Ritesh has earlier directed Irrfan Khan and Nimrat Kaur in The Lunchbox and directed the 2017 film Our Souls at Night that stars Jane Fonda, Robert Redford, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Judy Greer. It had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 2017. His other film The Sense of an Ending is based on the novel of the same name by Julian Barnes. The film stars Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling, Harriet Walter, Emily Mortimer, and Michelle Dockery. The film had its world premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
