Hate Story 4 Movie Review: Semi Nude Bodies, Cheesy Dialogues, Twists And Nothing Else!

Urvashi Rautela, you have a pretty face but please consider acting classes!

Hate they say is a very strong word but there is no other way to describe my feelings for Hate Story 4, it was pure hatred!

The film opens with a murder scene and goes into a flashback to reveal the real story, which is not much of a story but more twists. Hate Story 4 is a revenge drama and that’s something that is revealed just before the intermission.

Directed by Vishal Pandya, Hate Story 4 is supposed to be all about revenge, love, betrayal etc. but only leaves you wondering ‘ Yeh kya hai bhai?” The plot is extremely poor, the screenplay even worse. So the story is about this bar dancer, Taasha (Urvashi Rautela) who aspires to make it big as a supermodel. She gets lucky when a photographer, Rajvir (Karan Wahi) spots her and she becomes the new face of a campaign by Rajvir’s brother Aryan (Vivan Bhatena). She becomes a famous supermodel in London and in a scene where she is being interviewed by the British media she says, “You guys only ruled our country, I am here to rule your hearts.” That’s just an example of one of the many many more such cheesy dialogues in the film. Wonder what dialogue writer Milaap Milan Zaveri was thinking!

Urvashi Rautela in a scene from the film

It seems like the director has tried to fit too many plots and ideas all into one film. The art direction, sound, costume etc. everything about the film is wrong. In some parts of the film, especially the one where Rajvir drops Tasha home for the first time after the success party, the sound of Tasha’s footsteps while she walks to her front door is completely out of sync.

Karan Wahi is the only tolerable actor in The Hate Story 4

Gulshan Grover who plays Rajvir and Aryan’s father is over the top and his salt and pepper look is a perfect example of hair makeup gone wrong. Vivaan was tolerable, Urvashi has been made to look more like a vamp than the protagonist. While the songs are soothing to the ears, the way they have been picturised kills them! Karan Wahi was far better than all the other actors in the film when it comes to acting. The other actors don’t even make an effort to act! Urvashi needs some serious acting lessons.

The English subtitles with literal translations add as a disturbance to an already disturbed and bored mind! The only thing that the film does manage to live up to is a whole lot of skin show much like the other Hate Stories. The film is nothing but sleaze.

If you enjoy cheap thrills then please go watch the film or else the film is absolutely passable! Read a good book instead this weekend!
