Bewafa Beauty – The New Item Song From Blackmail Is Here To Stay

Urmila Matondkar had given back to back scintillating and sensuously captivating performances back in the 90s. Starting from Raangeela re and Yaari re to Chhamma Chhamma, she not only knew how to dance but mastered the art of putting up a performance. What wouldn’t you give away to watch her dance like no one’s watching? The good news is after a long break of almost 9 years Urmila is back on the big screen with an item number called Bewafa Beauty for Irrfan Khan starrer Blackmail.

The last time she was seen doing what she does best was in an item number Mehbooba Mehbooba in Ram Gopal Verma ki Aag (2007). Well, her perfect thumkas in this song show that nothing has changed. She has donned a beautiful, shiny purple sequin saree and if that is not enough for you, her enchanting smile will keep you coming back for more. The song is composed by Amit Trivedi and written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Pawni Pandey’s voice seems just perfect for featuring Urmila in this item number.

Director Abhinay Deo has reportedly mentioned that he didn’t want just another “come and go” item number. He was keen on incorporating a number that would add meaning to the movie. Bewafa beauty reiterates exactly what the movie is about; a man who is being cheated on by his wife. Urmila is seen dancing in a shady bar although the song doesn’t quite match up to the brilliance and beauty of the benchmark the actress has assuredly set for herself, she doesn’t fail to recreate the Urmila charm either.

Urmila is definitely not another item girl and if the song reminds us something it is just that her flawless expressions and flexible body movements in this peppy number is enough to set your hearts racing. The makers shared this news over Instagram on the official account of Blackmail: “She’s bold, seductive and stunning! Here’s #UrmilaMatondkar in #BewafaBeauty! She, however, remains the actress who doesn’t need to wear scanty outfits or shake her waist to sleazy lyrics.

Blackmail is an upcoming black comedy-drama movie directed by Abhinay Deo and includes an ensemble cast- Irrfan Khan and Kirti Kulkarni, Divya Dutta, Arunoday Singh and Omi Vaidya. The film chronicles the life of a middle-aged man caught up in a mundane lifestyle but things change when he finds his wife is engaged in an extramarital affair. It is all set to release on the 6th of April, 2018. The other songs that were released from this movie include Happy happy, Patola and Badla. We cannot wait to watch Urmila’s great comeback on the big screen.
