The Doorbeen’s new song ‘Prada’ was released earlier this month with a music video featuring Alia Bhatt, and it’s doing quite well on the charts. However, something that might slow down its rise has hit the headlines now. It has been noticed that the song’s chorus portions sound very similar to a part of the song ‘Goray Rung Ka Zamana,’ which belongs to a Pakistan-based band called Vital Signs. This is a pretty old song, but it can indeed be found on YouTube.

Vital Signs was a pop rock band formed in 1986, and had achieved great popularity in the country during the 1990s. ‘Goray Rung Ka Zamana’ was part of the band’s first ever album, titled Vital Signs: Volume 1. The portion from ‘Prada’ that matches the melody of this song goes, “Aaj kar lai tu vaada. Pehla leke de Prada, aai taan dooron dooron.” You can listen to both the songs in the space below to see the similarities yourself.

There has been no official statement from The Doorbeen about this. But the issue has been picked up by Pakistani media outlets. Many people on Twitter are complaining about the similarities in the two songs as well. Interestingly, The Doorbeen’s first song, ‘Lamberghini’ had grabbed its tune from a Punjabi folk song called ‘Punjabi Tappe.’

‘Prada’ has been sung by The Doorbeen along with Shreya Sharma. Its music video, which was released on August 12, featured Alia Bhatt in it.
