Arjun Kapoor starrer India’s Most Wanted has had its second track released in the form of Vande Mataram. The patriotic track aims to be a salute to the ‘unsung heroes that promptly keep our nation safe and secure.’ It has been released via the Saregama Music YouTube channel, and has managed to grab 2.8 million views in three days. This 1:58 minute video is however a shorter version of the full track, which is 3:42 minutes long, and can be accessed through all major streaming services.

The video starts with Arjun Kapoor delivering a final message to his team before the start of a dangerous mission. “Jahan hum jaa rahe hai, wahan humari jaan bhi jaa sakti hai,” he says before letting them know that this is the last chance to back off. The lyrics, penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya then describe the state of mind of these heroes. The lines, “Jooton ke pheete baandh kar. Kandhon par baste laad kar. Tukdi hum be-parwahon ki. Chal padne ko taiyaar hai. Katti hai apni neend se. Zimmedaari se pyar hai. Marne se na katraate hain. Dar jaane se inkaar hai” really drive the point home.

Vande Mataram has been composed by Amit Trivedi who is coming off a hot streak of two spectacular albums in 2018, in Andhadhun and Manmarziyaan. He doesn’t disappoint with this song. While it’s not an extraordinary composition, it does manage to evoke a patriotic vibe with its musical choices. Papon has sung the song beautifully, with some help from Altamash Faridi.

India’s Most Wanted has its plot revolving around a group of intelligence officers who embark on a top-secret mission to track down a wanted international criminal. It has been directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, whose last film Raid fared pretty well at the box office. The film will be released in theatres across India on May 24.
