What is being referred to by many as the dream team in the pop music world, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber are receiving lots of love for their new track I Don’t Care. This, even before the music video of the song is launched. The song is currently on the number one positions on a wide number of charts worldwide. The song was released on streaming platforms on May 9, and its lyrical video on YouTube already boasts of more than 28 million views.

I Don’t Care is noticeable for its Caribbean-leaning tunes and excellent vocal performances by the two stars. The lyrics speak about a party that both of them don’t want to attend, but they don’t really care about it since they are with their loved ones. Its lyrics go, “I’m at a party I don’t wanna be at. And I don’t ever wear a suit and tie, yeah Wonderin’ if I could sneak out the back. Nobody’s even lookin’ me in my eyes. Can you take my hand? Finish my drink, say, ‘Shall we dance?’ (Hell, yeah). You know I love ya, did I ever tell ya? You make it better like that.”

The song set a Spotify record as the most for one day, and the biggest debut-day sum for any track, with nearly 11 million hits worldwide. I Don’t Care hit the top of U.K.’s Official Singles Chart. It also achieved more digital downloads than the rest of the Top 5 combined at the ‘midweek’ point.

This is not the first time that Justin Bieber is collaborating with Ed Sheeran. Love Yourself, one of the highlights of Justin’s 2015 album, Purpose, was written by him along with Ed Sheeran and Benny Blanco. And then there was the 2016 hit from Major Lazer called Cold Water, which was written by Ed and featured vocals from Bieber.

I Don’t Care is all set to be blessed with a music video soon. Let us wait until that happens.
