B.A.S.E. jumping, is parachuting or wingsuit flying from a fixed structure or cliff. “BASE” is an acronym that stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: building, antenna, span, and Earth (cliff).
The jump, the adrenaline rush, the sweeping air and the rising velocity; all factors push the thrill of base jumping on an accelerator. While sky diving involves greater heights, it affords the safety of aerodynamics and time for the parachute to open properly. BASE jumping is more adventurous as the short time and lower heights take away these two safety mechanisms from the jump.
And yet, more and more people are being enamoured by the thrill of a BASE jump. It is on many traveller’s bucket list. Here are some amazing destinations with BASE jumping facilities.
Eiffel Tower, Paris
In 1912 Franz Reichelt unsuccessfully tested his parachute by taking a mortal leap from the tower. Since then, the iconic landmark has attracted many travel junkies to try a jump from its beautiful heights. It is one of the best of the urban jumps. However, one should watch out for the park below the tower, which is often crowded with tourists.

Perrine Bridge, Idaho
You can take off a jump almost from your car. The bridge spanning the Snake River in Twin Falls is one of the most famous locations in the world among the BASE jumpers. Numerous successful jumps were completed here. It is only 150 m (486 ft) high, but refreshing dip in the river awaits the adventurers.

This 1380 feet skyscraper is an urban excitement for BASE jumpers. It put the country on the BASE jumping map in 2004 when crowds watched a team of jumpers taking part in a promotional event to show off their skills.

Burj Khalifa, Dubai
The tallest building in the world definitely affords one of the best sites for BASE jumpers. In 2010 Nasr Al Nivadi and Omar Al Hegelan took 1.5 minutes to reach the ground. As it is not a common practise, special permission is required to attempt a jump here.
