We often forget to take care of ourselves while traveling because we are so busy firstly, preparing for the travel and secondly, once we reach our destination we’re in a rush to go out and explore around and tend to ignore minor health issues. Summer is around the corner and it’s time to take a break. But in order to enjoy the vacations, let’s just make some small changes before and during our travel.

Build Your Immunity: Eat Wisely

A strong immune system is very important before you start your journey. The stronger the immunity, the lesser chances of falling ill, so in order to build your immunity eat a healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, especially leafy vegetables. While it’s nice to try out different cuisines during your travels, be careful of the foods that trigger your health.

While it’s fun to travel, travelling can be extremely exhausting because we tend to walk around a lot and are out in the sun too. Drink lots of water while travelling, because the more hydrated you stay, the better you feel. It’s a great idea to add chia seeds to your water because chia seeds absorb a lot of water and will keep you hydrated longer. If you are worried about the quality of the water you can always opt for mineral water or carry some water purifying tablets.

Plan Your Activities Wisely: Avoid The Strong Sun

It’s a great idea to plan most of the outdoor sightseeing activities either very early in the morning or once the sun is not too strong around late evening. The afternoons can be spent exploring indoor sightseeing spots like museums, heritage buildings, local libraries etc. or better still use that time to take a power nap so that you are all fresh and ready to explore and party the night away!
